The State of The IRS

You have heard the news about the IRS layoffs. Thousands were laid off without notice saying they were not doing their jobs! What effect does this have on the remaining IRS agents?

Recently I have spoken with several IRS agents. The overwhelming emotion I pick up is deep seated anger. They feel betrayed and have elected to become more aggressive in their dealings with taxpayers. Fairness and compassion are a thing of the past. Now let’s get the taxpayer with our power.

I will give you an example. A taxpayer lost his business and had to walk away. He has no income so his parents have been giving him about $1,500 a month for his bills. The IRS Revenue Officer has decided that he wants all the $1,500 in IRS payments plus he wants to take his house.

One more example. The IRS set up an impossible payment plan knowing the taxpayer could not keep up the payments. So, when the taxpayer defaults as they surely will the IRS can levy their bank account or take their house. The IRS has no interest in setting up a payment plan the taxpayer can afford. They want the taxpayer to fail.

Do you want to deal with a revenue officer that is like that?

If you already owe the IRS you are likely under stress already. Why add to it by trying to deal with a Revenue Officer like that? You will not come to a solution only heartache and unbearable stress.

Keep in mind that the IRS Revenue Officer doesn’t care about you. Before the layoffs … maybe. Not now. They want to stick as any taxpayers as they can before they get laid off. They consistently do not follow the IRM (rules the IRS must follow) to get their way.

So, what does this mean for you?

Do not call the IRS when you get notice! They will twist the conversation and use it against you. You need an IRS tax resolution specialist to help you.

So, if you are in this situation do not despair! Obtaining good representation will undoubtedly obtain a good result for you.
